Money is worked out, not guessed
Every amount is held in pence. Labour is rate × minutes ÷ 60. A part priced from cost uses your markup or your target margin — and the document states which. £100 cost at 25% markup sells for £125.00; at 25% margin it sells for £133.33. Markup is never applied twice, and a selling price you type in is left alone.
VAT per line
If you are VAT registered, each line carries its own category — standard-rated repair work, or an outside-scope statutory fee — and VAT is calculated per line and summed. If you are not registered, no VAT is added and the document says so. WorkshopLegend is not tax advice; the settings are yours to confirm.
Labour time, labelled
Times are entered in minutes or hours. Where no licensed repair-time provider is connected, the document labels the time as a garage estimate. Two operations that may share work (the timing belt and the water pump behind it) are flagged for you to decide; nothing is deducted automatically.
Missing prices stay missing
A part you have not priced shows as TBC on an estimate and blocks a firm quotation. Prices carry a status — garage-entered, supplier quote, public price, stale, unavailable — and you see it before you send.
Frozen when issued
Sending creates a numbered version with everything snapshotted: rates, lines, prices, terms, validity. Change your labour rate tomorrow and yesterday's quote does not move. A revision is a new version; the old one is marked superseded.
